Gaming supervisors oversee gaming operations and workers in an assigned area. Circulating among the tables, they see that all stations and games are manned for each shift. It also is normal for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating codes for bettors. Supervisors may also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.
Gaming supervisors must have clear leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these talents both to supervise employees excellently and to greet gamblers in order to inspire return visits. Most casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, quite a few supervisors gain experience in other wagering occupations before moving into supervisory positions because an understanding of games and casino operations is important for these workers.
